No, no, and no. Everything is wrong with this ask and I don’t even feel like addressing it.
I’m sorry anon, but…
Divergent hasn’t broken past a 50% rating on Rotten Tomato yet (hell, it still hasn’t made more than a 41%, and the ‘liked it’ percentage has dropped from it’s original number as well).
As of March 31st, Divergent hadn’t made $100 million after TWO FULL WEEKENDS in theaters (I’m sure it’s passed the $100 million mark by NOW, but hey… that’s a bit telling)
Who is still talking about this movie besides the fandom world? Like find me a post from the past few days that is Divergent related that has drawn in a big reader count - I challenge you. (Hey, kudos if you can do it - I’ve personally seen nothing).
What’s it say that YESTERDAY afternoon that Divergent still had at least 10 showing times at my local theater, and today it only had maybe five? Like the theaters that were showing Divergent are now being used to show Captain America (which has an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, btw)???
What does it say that when Catching Fire was coming out, that my local Hot Topic had an entire section of the store dedicated to CF merch. and the sales girl that rang me up at the time told me specifically that they had to keep restocking the shelf because they kept selling CF merch - but Divergent had a MINIMAL merch. section today (like on one of their free-standing displays) with maybe six or seven things for sale…
Aside from HUNGER GAMES fans talking about it on my dash, I’ve seen NOTHING related to Divergent on Tumblr. When, in regards to THG series, I’ve seen so many people NOT EVEN IN THG fandom talking about the series.
I’m sorry, anon OP - but Divergent is barely a blip on the radar. If Insurgent gets made, then congrats! Your movie beat the system. We all know that this Favorite character ‘category’ for the MTV Movie Awards is BULLSHIT that was only created from Katniss being left out of a category she should’ve been in to begin with. So if Tris wins THAT, it means NOTHING. It’s so incredibly rigged, it’s almost painful to watch.
Catching Fire was THE NUMBER ONE MOVIE OF 2013. There is no disputing these facts. Nothing will change the fact that Katniss Everdeen ruled the end of 2013, beating out Tony Stark, Thor, Superman, and Bilbo Baggins. Sit here and show me the proof that Tris Prior can do the same. Seriously. I’ll wait.
